run-parts: /etc/network/if-pre-up.d/whereami exited with return code 1
Failed to bring up enp3s0.
Solution:
I have purged network-manager to configure my network in the interfaces file manually.
After a look into the whereami script i found out that the whereami binary „/usr/sbin/whereami“ doesn’t exist.
Then i have moved the whereami file out of the directory and not the ifup worked:
root@workstation:/home/mathias# cd /etc/network/if-pre-up.d/ root@workstation:/etc/network/if-pre-up.d# ls bridge ethtool whereami wireless-tools wpasupplicant root@workstation:/etc/network/if-pre-up.d# mv whereami /home/mathias/Schreibtisch/ root@workstation:/etc/network/if-pre-up.d# ifup -v enp3s0 Configuring interface enp3s0=enp3s0 (inet) /bin/run-parts --exit-on-error --verbose /etc/network/if-pre-up.d run-parts: executing /etc/network/if-pre-up.d/bridge run-parts: executing /etc/network/if-pre-up.d/ethtool run-parts: executing /etc/network/if-pre-up.d/wireless-tools run-parts: executing /etc/network/if-pre-up.d/wpasupplicant /sbin/dhclient -1 -v -pf /run/dhclient.enp3s0.pid -lf /var/lib/dhcp/dhclient.enp3s0.leases -I -df /var/lib/dhcp/dhclient6.enp3s0.leases enp3s0 Internet Systems Consortium DHCP Client 4.3.3 Copyright 2004-2015 Internet Systems Consortium.
